Scope of the Position

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for devising plans and coordinating maintenance activity to ensure equipment is in best possible working order with minimal interruption to production. The Maintenance Planner is the liaison between Maintenance, Engineer, Management and Operations to determine project prioritization and timing for execution of planned maintenance activities to ensure balance for Operations daily production goals and need for equipment reliability. The Maintenance Planner will develop maintenance strategies, purchase necessary parts and equipment, and facilitate process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize planning and scheduling methods to ensure effective and the least disruptive maintenance possible
  • Identify and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Coordinates with Engineers, Management and production to establish proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime
  • Maintain a consistent tracking system for work orders, planning maintenance projects and ensure compliance of assigned task completion
  • Plan daily maintenance work and collaborate with Maintenance team to ensure all equipment is in working order and minimum equipment downtime and impact on production
  • Analyze and troubleshoot equipment problems and provide recommendations and solutions.
  • Analyze maintenance projects to identify and implement process improvements
  • Liaison with outside contractors for quotes and completion of projects
  • Tool crib management of the inventory system to ensure continuous flow of tools and equipment and ensure maintenance technicians have proper tools and parts for completing of assigned work orders.
  • Supervision of tool crib attendants. Set daily priorities for attendants to ensure task completion and accurate inventory 
  • Responsible for the awareness, understanding, specific responsibilities and management of the Environmental Management System and the Quality Management System

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work around and atop manufacturing equipment. Able to ascend and descend stairs and ladders, bending, kneeling, crouching, or stopping
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Must be able to be periodically “on call” during outside typical scheduled work hours, weekends or during scheduled plant shutdowns when required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least five (5) years of experience working in industrial environment. Prefer experience in automotive manufacturing.
  • Minimum of two (2) years maintenance planner experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years MRO/ Inventory Management experience
  • Strong organization and leadership skills
  • Trouble-shooting/ problem solving
  • Strong project management skills
  • Able to build partnerships across functional groups
