The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of public finance law, tax-exempt finance, municipal law, and tax credits. Responsibilities
- Serve as Issuer's Counsel, providing legal advice on a wide range of public finance matters including bond issuance, tax-exempt financing, and tax credit transactions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of legal documents related to public finance transactions, including bond documents, loan agreements, and disclosure documents.
- Advise clients on the legal aspects of financial decisions, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Provide legal counsel on municipal law matters, advising public entities on a wide range of issues including governance, public contracts, and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on complex issues related to public finance and municipal law.
- Represent the firm and its clients in court, before government agencies, or in private legal matters.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Stay updated on current trends, practices, and legislation in public finance and municipal law, ensuring the firm's practices are up-to-date and compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Master of Laws (LLM) degree in a related field is preferred.
- Must be barred in Phoenix.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Public Finance Attorney, with a strong focus on issuer's counsel, tax-exempt finance, and municipal law.
- Demonstrated experience with tax credits and public finance law.
- Excellent legal research and writing skills.
- Strong negotiation and client management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
- High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to public service or social justice.
