Job Details:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Controller in the Construction industry. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in our organization's financial management and strategic planning. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our company's financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, and risk management. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where innovation and creativity are highly valued.

Responsibilities:

As a Controller, you will be expected to:

1. Oversee all financial operations of the company, including the development of a financial strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.
2. Coordinate the preparation of the company's budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
3. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
4. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
5. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
6. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
7. Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process.
8. Advise on long-term business and financial planning.
9. Review all formal finance, HR, and IT related procedures.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Permanent Controller position should possess the following qualifications:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Proven experience with financial software, specifically Viewpoint or Sage.
4. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
6. Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
7. An effective leader with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
8. High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
