Hiring Salary:

$4,288-$5,040per month plus a competitive benefits package including a paid family health insurance plan, paid leave (annual leave, sick leave, and 10 paid holidays), retirement plan options, tuition reimbursement, work-life balance/flexibility, an infant-at-work program, and more.

This position is a

Monday-Friday day position that is in the Bismarck Office

and is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Travel is required.

If an external candidate (not currently employed with the State of ND) is selected for this position they may be eligible for a

hiring bonus of up to one month's salary.

Summary of Work

The Premium Auditor is the primary liaison for Workforce Safety & Insurance providing efficient and equitable service to insured policyholders operating in North Dakota. To be successful in this position, you need to be an effective communicator with a forward-thinking mindset ready to apply your decision-making skills.

You will work independently and be responsible for conducting premium audits at employer sites or by phone to ensure the accuracy of proper rate classification assignments and reported payroll information provided by the employer. The many duties include:Conducting preliminary audit researchInterviewing clients to understand their business operationsDocumenting, evaluating, and identifying problems to improve client payroll reportingDeveloping and applying audit testsParticipating in pre- and post-audit conferencesPreparing audit reportsDocumenting resultsTravel to employer sites is required

Minimum Qualifications

To thrive in this position, qualified applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, public administration, statistics, economics, or another related area with coursework in accounting.

A combination of education and/or work experience in the following: insurance, finance, accounting, fraud auditing, a related auditing field, or business administration services would substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
