Engineering Data Collection Intern

Status: Temporary, Full-Time
NDDOT Pay: $18.72 / hour

Summary of Work
Collect traffic volumes on state, county, city roadways using portable automated equipment. Work consists of deploying equipment on and off the roadway, so some overnight stays are required. Assist in collecting roadway-inventory and geometric data for federal reporting (mostly in-office using roadway images); this also has the potential to include assisting in training AI/ML models if such software is procured. Assist in collecting pavement condition data, using the high-tech pavement management van with automated collection equipment. Upload all data into permanent storage systems, using GIS and databases.
Minimum Qualifications
• Must be enrolled in an engineering technology, civil/construction engineering, data science or related undergraduate degree programs.• Requires ability to lift and carry a total weight of up to 50 pounds.• Possession of a valid Class D Drivers License for travel within the state of North Dakota.• Travel is required.
