Description:POSITION PURPOSE
Manages the implementation, operation, and maintenance of highly complex networks within Trinity Health's enterprise data centers supporting critical system-wide voice and data applications. Provides leadership of projects; contributes to the design of telecommunications/network systems; translates business parameters and objectives into functional and/or technical requirements; provides technical direction to less senior infrastructure staff, contractors, and vendors; configuration of systems; handles problem resolution; participates in the development of standards, policies and procedures; provides escalation support and subject matter expertise for chronic issues; and ensures adherence to industry best practices and home office standards for both project implementations and ongoing upgrades. Position requires significant detail and effort around planning and change management. Expert technical skills are demanded in order to effectively respond to the critical nature of the applications and far reaching impact a disruption or loss of availability/performance could signify.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSKnows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices and decisions.Manages and provides leadership in the implementation, maintenance and operation of telecommunications and highly complex network systems in enterprise data centers, which host critical financial and clinical systems for the organization. Ensures network connectively between Regional Heal Ministeries (RHMs) and enterprise data centers.Develops highly detailed plans and playbooks for network activities to ensure the utmost availability of networks supporting Trinity Health's critical enterprise systems, this includes planning for implementation / configuration of equipment, but also development and facilitation of detailed testing and back out plans.Provides input based on technical expertise to standards committees, guiding these teams to adopt industry best practices and appropriate standards for the system.Works independently and proactively to ensure reliability and high availability of telecommunications/network systems within enterprise data centers.Serves as a high level escalation resource for the identification and resolution of large scale or highly complex issues which may affect the entire system or multiple RHMs.Ensures that industry best practices and system office standards are met when infrastructure systems are implemented, including reviewing the work effort of less senior infrastructure staff, contractors and vendors.Serves as a mentor providing guidance and training to less experienced infrastructure colleagues.Provides input to the manager infrastructure on the capital and operational budgets for growth and life cycle requirements.May provide system-wide technical expertise in one or more technical specialties.Demonstrates safe work practices and attitudes, follows safety rules, works to prevent unsafe conditions and behaviors, and participates in organizational and departmental safety programs.Maintains positive and trusting working relationships with customers, management and peers in keeping with a service oriented organization.Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science degree in a related field and seven (7) to ten (10) years of directly related experience or equivalent combination or education and experience.Expert knowledge or seven (7) to ten (10) years in network infrastructure, with general knowledge in telephony infrastructure.Ability to pull together resources from multiple disciplines to quickly identify and resolve complex issues impacting availability of centralized enterprise systems.Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with end users, technical staff and vendors of differing professional levels and ability to succeed in an environment of competing priorities.Demonstrated technical leadership of project implementation teams.Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
This position operates in a typical office environment or in infrastructure equipment rooms such as telecommunications closets, server rooms, data centers, or telephone system centers.The areas are typically well-lit, temperature-controlled and generally free from hazards. High voltages may be present, and caution is an expected behavior.Lifting of equipment up to 50 lbs.Hearing is needed for extensive telephone and in person communications.The environment in which the incumbent will work requires the ability to concentrate, meet deadlines, work on several projects at the same period and adapt to interruptions.
