The Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This includes OSHA, EPA, Workers Compensation, and other relevant regulations. The position will oversee all EHS activities, including wastewater management, injury and illness prevention, environmental protection, and safety in food and freezer operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety, ammonia (NH4) management and will be bilingual, with proficiency in Spanish.Responsibilities:1. Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.2. Oversee all aspects of Workers Compensation, including claim management and return-to-work programs.3. Manage wastewater operations to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.4. Implement and oversee safety programs to prevent injury and illness, including in food and freezer operations.5. Manage ammonia (NH4) safety programs, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.6. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.7. Provide training and education to employees on EHS topics, including safety procedures, hazard recognition, and emergency response.8. Work closely with all levels of the organization to foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.9. Respond to and investigate EHS incidents, implementing corrective actions as necessary.Qualifications:1. Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role in the manufacturing industry, with a focus on food and freezer operations.3. Extensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.4. Experience managing Workers Compensation programs.5. Experience with wastewater operations and ammonia (NH4) safety.6. Bilingual, with proficiency in Spanish.7. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.8. Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs.9.
