This is a permanent, hybrid role that combines the best of both worlds, where you will have the opportunity to work both remotely and in a traditional office setting. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and controlling Fund Accounting transactions of the organization, applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records.The ideal candidate will have a strong Fund Accounting background, public accounting experience, a CPA, and/or property/real estate accounting. This position is hybrid and can offer office locations in either Annapolis, DC, or Baltimore.Why join us? Support all aspects related to Fund Accounting2. Perform month-end closing activities such as reconciliations and journal entries3. Coordinate with finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines4. Generate client billing and conduct account reconciliation promptly and accurately5. Evaluate computerized accounting systems and provide recommendations to IT team for performance improvements6. Generate financial reports and statements to Managers for review7. Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions8. Monitor expenditures, analyze revenues and determine budget variances and report the same to management9. Respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely fashion10. Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts11. Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations12. Conduct periodical reviews for insurance, tax, VAT and other related complianceQualifications1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field2. Minimum 2+ years of experience in accounting or related field3. Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint4. Deep knowledge of best practices in accounting and financial management5. Familiarity with fund accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, payables coding, and foreign exchange calculations6. Experience with Yardi or equivalent software is a must7. Ability to work in a hybrid environment, both independently and as part of a team8. Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for numbers9. Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills10. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a firm grasp of individual project details11. Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines12. Adherence to laws and confidentiality guidelines13. Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus.
