Big Data Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Big Data Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Charlotte NC (Hybrid) . You will translate technical and functional requirements into detailed designs and mentor junior staff through technical training sessions. Rate Range: $54/hour to $64/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Big Data Engineer job responsibilities include: Design, implement, and manage ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data into information products that support business objectives. Oversee the development and implementation of Apache Hadoop frameworks to ensure efficient data storage and processing. Work closely with data scientists to implement data analytics pipelines, facilitating the integration of advanced analytics into business processes. Convert complex technical and functional requirements into detailed system designs for data processing and storage solutions. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff by conducting training sessions and reviewing their project outputs. Investigate and evaluate alternative data storage and processing options to ensure streamlined and effective solutions. Analyze vast datasets to uncover insights and trends that drive informed business decisions and strategies. Desired Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Big Data engineering or a related role. Knowledge of Core Java, Linux, SQL, and any scripting language. Proven experience with Python, Spark, and Hive for data processing and analytics. Familiarity with data warehousing, data modeling techniques, and industry-standard visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
