Job Details

We are currently seeking an experienced Tax Senior for our thriving firm. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to join our team and contribute to the financial success of our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing our tax operations, ensuring compliance with state and federal tax laws, and providing strategic tax planning. This role will collaborate closely with our finance and accounting teams, serving as a key player in managing our financial health and growth.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns and ensure timely and accurate filings.
  2. Analyze and interpret tax regulations, keeping abreast of changes in tax legislation.
  3. Conduct thorough reviews of financial statements and accounting information for tax relevancy.
  4. Identify potential tax issues and develop effective and strategic solutions.
  5. Liaise with tax authorities and provide tax audit support as needed.
  6. Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision support.
  7. Provide tax planning and advisory services to support the strategic growth of the company.
  8. Develop and maintain internal control procedures to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  9. Prepare tax reports and forecasts for internal management and stakeholders.
  10. Provide leadership and mentorship to junior tax staff, fostering an environment of continuous learning and growth.

Qualifications:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
  3. A minimum of 2 years of tax experience in public accounting
  4. Extensive knowledge of federal and state tax codes, compliance issues, and filing requirements.
  5. Proficiency in preparing and reviewing tax returns and financial statements.
  6. Demonstrated experience in identifying and resolving complex tax issues.
  7. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  8. Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record in staff development.
  9. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
  10. Proficiency in tax preparation and accounting software.
