Sutro Biopharma, located in South San Francisco, is developing a new generation of multi-functional antibody drug conjugate combination therapeutics and bifunctional antibody-based therapeutics for targeted cancer therapies.

These therapeutics will significantly extend the clinical impact of current oncology therapeutic approaches and are beyond what can be envisioned with traditional cell-based expression technologies. Sutro's biochemical synthesis technology, which underpins these therapeutics, allows the rapid and systematic exploration of many protein drug variants to research, discover and develop drug candidates. Our make-test cycle for hundreds of protein variants, including those incorporating non-natural amino acids, takes approximately two weeks. Once identified, production of these protein drug candidates can be rapidly and predictably manufactured at commercial scales. In addition to developing its own drug pipeline, Sutro Biopharma is collaborating with select pharmaceutical and biotech companies in the research, discovery, development, and manufacture of novel protein therapeutics.Sutro Biopharma, Inc. is looking for energetic and talented individuals to join its multidisciplinary team. We are seeking an Sr. Administrative Assistant (Contractor) who will provide diverse administrative support PAD/Quality leadership and members of their team. This position will involve interacting and supporting multiple leaders within the PAD/Quality team, including exposure to sensitive information. This position requires considerable use of tact, diplomacy, discretion and judgment. Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to PAD and Quality leadership: manage and coordinate complex schedules, travel arrangements, meetings and conferences, prepare expense reports, screen incoming calls, prepare presentations, compose correspondence, send faxes, sort mail, make copies, filing.
  • Arrange travel and organize meetings for invited speakers and consultants
  • Work with PAD/Quality leadership to organize and schedule candidate interviews.
  • Represent Sutro in a highly professional manner.
  • Facilitate logistics around external and internal meetings.
  • Follow up and deadline tracking when necessary.
  • Handle highly confidential information.
  • Work closely with senior leadership and interface with colleagues at all levels of the organization with an understanding of the company structure, goals and best practices.
  • Work independently and within administrative team on a variety of projects. Manage special projects as necessary. Answer and screen incoming calls.
  • Work collaboratively with Executive Assistant team and Sutro colleagues.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred with a minimum of ten years of administrative experience, preferably in biotechnology, pharmaceutical or health care company. Previous experience supporting C-Level executives is preferred.
  • You must have the ability to prioritize, multi-task and perform efficiently under time constraints.
  • This position requires a high level of interpersonal skills and judgment to handle sensitive and highly confidential situations. A positive demeanor, continual poise, tact and diplomacy are required.
  • Analytical ability is essential to gather and summarize data for reports and find solutions to various administrative problems.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) as well as Outlook and familiarity navigating the internet.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, resourceful and capable of working independently or in a highly collaborative team environment.

    The anticipated salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role at Sutro Biopharma's California-based locations will be $105,000 - $120,000. The final salary offered will be dependent on several factors that include and are not limited to relevant previous experience, job responsibilities and duration of experience, the type and length of experience within the industry, and education.
