Compensation
The base hourly rate for this position is $30.17.
Johns Manville is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Production Backup Supervisor. Shift is TBD.
The Etowah, TN plant houses two major furnaces and two glass mat lines. Molten glass is produced on both furnaces and converted to a continuous filament fiber. The fiber is chopped to a prescribed length and then used in various processes in the building industry.
Responsibilities:Crew coverageConduct pre-shift meetings.Monitors production reporting and scheduling in various systemsExecutes product changeovers with crew.Enters/monitors downtime, scrap and work requests.Time & Attendance through ADPOversees the machine attendant/dry end chief training process including improving the system and delivering training to new Machine attendants/dry end chiefs, and refresher training as needed.Drives improvements in mat department SOPs, JSAs, and hazard assessments to improve knowledge retention and transfer in the mat department.Responsible for new mat department employee orientationLeads department safety initiatives by working with safety leads on various safety projects.Relieves shift supervisor as neededOther duties as requiredLeadership Skills:
Proven communication skillsAbility to evaluate performance and coach othersExperience in motivating and leading a teamAbility to address employee issues as neededDemonstrated personal initiative to accept new tasksEstablished ability to prioritize multiple tasksWillingness & ability to perform as a back-up SupervisorQualifications:
High School degree and/or 3-5 years of related experience.Good written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks at onceStrong leadership skillsAbility to work well with a diversified workforce at all levels of the businessAbility to proactively seek to resolve problems and take initiative to get the job doneIndustry related experience preferredProven experience in mentoring and guiding others.
