As a Lead Data and Analytics Engineer in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), youll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the betterThe database administration function provides in-depth technical expertise of database management systems, including database architecture, installation, and technical support of data products. Responsible for designing, securing, and maintaining the data structures used to store data for corporate computer systems such as GDMS, GQMS, Aegis. Responsible for the backup and recovery of corporate data. Provides technical support for data extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) tools, which are used to extract data from various database technologies, manipulate the data, and load to a new database environment. Performs database administration activities such as modifications, enhancements, expansions, and capacity planning. Provides technical support and assistance to Systems analysts and Sr. Systems Analysts in the design and tuning of computer applications. Provides in-depth technical expertise related to the ongoing maintenance and support of the database software.??The role is with the Data & Analytics team supporting the Procurement department.? Their key objective is to create data and analytic products to bring the digital transformation within Procurement to fruition.?As a Lead Data and Analytics Engineer, you will be required to oversee?Procurement?data and analytics initiatives.?You will?design and maintain data pipelines where data from source systems such as SAP, Sievo and Provalido are ingested, transformed and prepared into business aggregated data products.?In this role, you'll be responsible for:+ Provides guidance in database administration activities to less experienced DBAs.??+ Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.??+ Review, validate and enhance logical database designs. Define and implement physical databases.??+ Perform database administration activities (e.g., modifications, enhancements, expansions).??+ Conducts production database performance monitoring and capacity planning. Install, test and upgrade database releases and associated products.??+ Diagnoses database-related issues (e.g., database outages, application performance).??+ Lead the development of database standards and procedures. Evaluate and recommend new database software, utilities, and tools.??+ Daily interaction with clients on divisional and enterprise wide projects and peer resources in other technical support organizations (e.g. hardware, storage, etc.).??+ Solve challenging data integration problems, utilizing optimal ETL patterns, frameworks, query techniques, sourcing from structured and unstructured data source?+ Design scalable data processing pipelines and ETL jobs using distributed technologies to handle growing data volumes efficiently.?**This role will require 3 days in the Mettawa office. Candidates who are not local or within a commutable distance would be expected to relocate.QualificationsWhat makes you a strong candidate for this role:Required:+ Bachelors Degree with 6 years experience; Masters Degree with 5 years experience; PhD with 0 years experience.+ Experience as a DBA in the design, testing, implementation and administration of management systems database with proficiency in SQL, Python, PowerBI, QlikView, Qliksense and Dataiku+ Technical training including Database Administration, Performance and Tuning, and Backup and Recovery.??+ Requires experience with file structures, design, retrieval, and access methods using ETL tools such as Informatica. Experience establishing guidelines, procedures and standards for database administration is a plus.??+ Requires excellent analytical, communication and consultative skills, as well as sound judgment and the ability to work effectively with client and other IT management and staffs.?? ?Beneficial:?+ Experience in Life sciences domain.?+ Expertise in creating Data Products on modern cloud-based data warehouse solutions like AWS Redshift, including data modeling, schema design, and performance optimization.??+ Proficient in Microsoft Power Platform solutions such as PowerQuery, Power Automate and Dataiku?+ Experienced in SDLC processes and Agile delivery, using Jira to manage product delivery in iterative sprints.?+ Expertise in the SAP Source to Pay module and Procurement analytics?Additional InformationApplicable only to applicants applying to a position in any location with pay disclosure requirements under state or local law: ?+ The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position.
