Job Details:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to the financial health of our organization, requiring the individual to play a crucial part in maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. Our ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can multitask, and has a strong understanding of the legal industry. This position requires the ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to changing priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Coordinate and resolve various issues with bank such as cleared check differences, bank fee anomalies, targeted balance calculations and enhancements to online services.
- Process payroll, remittance of payroll taxes, and government reporting.
- Prepare and coordinate year-end tax documents and work closely with external tax preparers.
- Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls while overseeing that all office and accounting policies are followed.
- Manage the preparation and review of all monthly and annual financial statements and reports.
- Work closely with the management team to create budgets, forecast financials, and prepare financial analysis of operations.
- Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for various financial functions and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with state revenue service, federal tax requirements, and local legal regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within the legal industry.
- Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting complex financial data.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with a team, as well as independently.
