Purpose

The Material Handler I performs the physical and/or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesVerify quantities, lot numbers, and part numbers against documentation previously prepared.Issue and move components, supplies and printed materials from the warehouse to meet manufacturing and inter-company requirements.Stage raw materials for dispensation to Issuance Group.Verify and receive materials returned from manufacturing in a timely manner.Document material transactions by recording on appropriate documents and in electronic Materials Management systems.Manually or using forklift, move material within the warehouse areas and in and out of trucks.Maintain warehouse areas in a clean and orderly state.Investigate inventory discrepancies as needed.Assist in preparing pharmaceutical product for shipment to contract manufacturers, clinical sites and customers, both domestic and international.Document shipment transactions on appropriate documentation and in computerized systems.Provide accounting with documentation for invoicing.Verify and receive delivered material in a timely manner.Work with accounting to close Purchase Orders for vendor payment.Perform trips to other Tolmar facilities as needed.Participate in required annual hazardous waste training.Hazardous waste involvement may include but is not limited to making waste determinations, waste packaging, container and tank management and inspection, and transfer of hazardous waste to and from storage.Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Skill in effective oral and written communication.Ability to read, understand and follow procedures.Ability to use critical thinking to address potential areas of concern.Work independently and properly prioritize tasks with limited supervision.Ability to follow written production records and validation protocols.Ability to work with computer systems.Ability to operate a forklift and drive delivery trucks.Ability to lift 50 pounds.Ability to be certified on a stand-up forklift, delivery trucks and other warehouse equipment.Ability to interact with peers and members of other departments in team settings in a professional manner.Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times.Core Values

& Experience

High School diploma or GED required.Previous experience in inventory control, warehousing, and shipping/receiving preferred.One or more years experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.Valid Driver's License.An acceptable MVR is required.Working Conditions

Working conditions are in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.Occasional overtime may be required.Work may consist of travel between multiple facilities.Compensation and Benefits
