We currently have an opening for a Quality Assurance Engineer Co-Op for our biopharma centrifuge product lines in our Clearwater, Florida office.The ideal candidate is dynamic, innovative, detail-oriented and an initiative driven individual willing to be challenged with real life medical device manufacturing and development challenges. Must be enrolled in an Engineering program at an accredited universityThe desired skills for our Quality Assurance Engineer Co-Op include, but are not limited to:Understanding in problem solving: CAPA Investigations, Root Cause, Corrective Actions ideally with familiarity in Ishikawa, FMEA, Pareto, Process Capability and K-T analyses.Technical writing and verbal skills with an ability to clearly convey instructions.Broad mechanical aptitude anywhere from mechanical machinery to USP & ISO-regulated injection molded plastic components.Experience in Solidworks 3D modeling and drawing GD&T would be a plus.Bonding troubleshooting techniques (RF and Ultrasonic welding) would be a plusExperience in MS Teams or similar conference devices and apps to convey and capture technical meeting information (Whiteboard template apps, OneNote, etc.)Attention to detail in review of Manufacturing documentation procedures.Conceptualize and produce 3D printed prototype and assembly fixturesStrong skills in MS Word, Excel graphing / tables; experience in Project is a plus Familiarization and aptitude to perform cleanroom particle analysis and characterization on polymers and common med device materials (polyurethanes, polycarbonate, films, etc.)Understanding of Quality Management Systems, Lean/Six Sigma methods, DMAIC, etc.Familiarity of Engineering Change Controls (ECO, DMR, CAPA, SCAR, NCR).Outstanding organizational skills.Familiarity and aptitude with concepts including: peristaltic pumping, flow meters, cell collection, cell viabilityGeneral familiarity with compliances on: Bioburden, Endotoxin, Sterile Dose Validation, Extractables &/or sterilization would be a plus.Dynamic balance to be both a self-starter and a team player.At Barry-Wehmiller we recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job.
