Reporting to the Global Sales Leader, the Sales Executive, West Coast region, will play a key role in driving business forward by focusing on identifying and implementing new business opportunities within the assigned region. This team member is the primary commercial resource responsible for actively driving and leading all stages of the sales process.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
:Achieve commercial business objectives and annual sales targets for defined centrifuge system and consumables sales while maintaining a high-level of customer satisfaction with CARR Biosystems Centrifuge products and services within the defined territory.Manage and nurture relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.Qualify sales leads, answer customer inquiries and maintain accurate records of activities using company deployed CRM software application.Provide pre- and post-sales support for the CARR Biosystems product portfolio.Working together with Application Sciences, the position will support product demonstrations, applications support, technical presentations, team selling activities, and customer product training for the assigned productSupport customer projects providing product and applications information, answering inquiries, and giving presentations.Lead contractual processes including Confidentiality agreements, Preferred provider / Master Services agreements / pricing agreements.Maintain rigor in all Standard Work, including funnel and forecast management, with periodic reviews of sales funnels and opportunitiesAttend and participate in sales strategy meetings and contribute insights based on field experiences to help shape company sales strategies.Support trade shows and professional conferences as required by Global Sales LeaderRequired Education and Experience
:
Bachelor of Science degree in related field (Engineering, Chemistry or Biochemistry major is preferred).A minimum of 5+ years of experience in upstream bioprocess development, pilot, tech transfer or manufacturing using separation systems post bioreactors/fermenters.Proven experience developing, specifying, or supporting manufacturing operations in the biopharmaceutical industry or three to five years of bioprocess sales, field applications or technical support of bioprocessing consumables, hardware and software.Proficiency in computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite products.Willingness to travel within your specified geographic region and nationally to participate in training, meetings and key projects.Understanding of cGMP, validation and regulated environments for bioprocessingStrong presentation skills (public speaking and lecture experience desired)Preferred Education and Experience
:
Strong, working knowledge of Upstream, Centrifugation, and Filtration unit operations.Excellent understanding and knowledge of the BioPharma/Biotech Industry.Demonstrated ability to understand and present complex material in understandable terms. Demonstrated communication skills both verbal and written with external customers, global counterparts and team members working in other functions.Solid problem-solving skills - Ability to manage and resolve conflict, communicate issues and propose solutions to both internal team members and external customers.Willingness to be flexible/adapt to changing work environments.Work Environment
:
The team member's essential job duties require the team member to spend his/her time in the customer facility. The team member must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required by the employer when in the manufacturing area.
Position Type
:
This is a regular, full-time position with the understanding that a regular workweek may require extended days and hours as needed to meet business needs. Must be able, available, and willing to work more than 40 hours per week, including scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
Physical Demands
:
The physical demands described here are representative of the those performed in the job duties. Performing the role frequently uses close vision, speech, hearing, frequent standing, use of hand tools and dexterity to work with equipment. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Additional examples:
Typically sits, grasps items, and performs keyboarding for regular operation of a computer.Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about regularly.Occasional exposure to typical manufacturing production physical hazards.
Travel :
50% travel is required for this position.
Compensation:
This is a base plus commission opportunity, with the base of $110,000 - $135,000 DOE.
