Technical Product Owner - Healthcare Provider Operations Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Product Owner with a robust background in Healthcare and Provider Operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen, exceptional product management skills, and preferred experience with Availity. This role is pivotal in driving the development and enhancement of our healthcare solutions, ensuring they meet the needs of providers and align with industry standards. Key Responsibilities Product Strategy and Vision Define Product Roadmap: Develop and maintain a clear product roadmap that aligns with the company's strategic objectives and addresses the needs of healthcare providers. Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with stakeholders, including healthcare providers, payers, and internal teams, to gather requirements and prioritize features. Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats within the healthcare technology landscape. Product Development and Management Backlog Management: Create, prioritize, and manage the product backlog, ensuring that development efforts are aligned with business goals and user needs. Agile Methodology: Lead Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, to ensure efficient and effective product development. Feature Definition: Write clear and concise user stories, acceptance criteria, and specifications to guide the development team. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with QA teams to ensure that products meet quality standards and are free of defects before release. Technical Leadership Technical Expertise: Leverage technical knowledge to make informed decisions about product features, integrations, and architecture. Integration with Availity: Utilize experience with Availity to integrate its products and services into our healthcare solutions, enhancing interoperability and operational efficiency. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical challenges that may arise during the product lifecycle, ensuring timely and effective solutions. Healthcare and Provider Operations Focus Provider Operations Expertise: Apply deep understanding of provider operations to design products that streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance the provider experience. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that products comply with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, GDPR, and other relevant standards. Data Management: Oversee the management of healthcare data, ensuring accuracy, security, and accessibility for providers. Communication and Collaboration Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and support teams to ensure cohesive product development and successful product launches. Reporting and Documentation: Provide regular updates on product status, milestones, and performance metrics to senior leadership and stakeholders. User Advocacy: Act as the voice of the user, ensuring that the end-user experience is prioritized in all product decisions. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree: In Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field. Master's Degree: Preferred but not required. Experience Product Management: 5 years of experience in product management, preferably within the healthcare industry. Healthcare Background: Strong background in Healthcare, with a deep understanding of Provider Operations and the healthcare ecosystem. Availity Experience: Significant experience working with Availity products and services is highly preferred. Technical Acumen: Proven ability to work closely with engineering teams and understand technical aspects of product development. Certifications Product Management Certifications: PMP, Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or equivalent certifications are a plus. Healthcare Certifications: Relevant certifications in healthcare management or operations are advantageous. Skills and Knowledge Areas Healthcare and Provider Operations Operational Workflow: In-depth knowledge of healthcare provider workflows, billing processes, claims management, and compliance requirements. Healthcare Standards: Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, and ICD-10. Technical Skills Product Development Tools: Proficiency with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Trello, or similar for managing product backlogs and workflows. Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights. API Integration: Experience with API integrations, particularly with healthcare platforms like Availity. Product Management Agile Methodologies: Expertise in Agile/Scrum frameworks and experience leading cross-functional teams in an Agile environment. User-Centric Design: Ability to prioritize user needs and design intuitive, user-friendly products. Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic planning skills with the ability to align product initiatives with business goals. Communication and Leadership Stakeholder Management: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Leadership: Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Availity: Hands-on experience with Availity's suite of products, including claims management, eligibility verification, and prior authorization tools. Healthcare IT Systems: Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, Practice Management Systems (PMS), and other healthcare IT solutions. Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations and standards, ensuring product compliance and security.
