Position: Senior Embedded Software Test Engineer We are looking for a highly motivated engineer interested in improving a battle tested, field proven tactical voice and data communication system. The ideal candidate will lead not just the software test of our existing products, but also bring in new test paradigms and automation to improve time to market for new features and releases of the system. The candidate must be highly organized, deadline oriented, and able to succeed in a fast-paced development engineering environment with frequently changing priorities. We are looking for a software tester who has experience with system administration and/or networking to broaden our test focus in an ever-changing environment. Job Description: Perform software testing tasks of a technical nature including but not limited to review of design change orders, writing test procedures, testing of engineering products as well as working as part of a multi-disciplined engineering project team. Develop, modify, and execute software test plans. Analyze and write test standards and procedures. Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action. Consult with development engineers in resolution of problems. Improve the current manual tests for efficiency and automating tests. Nature of Duties: Review requirements Responsible for planning, creation, and execution of software test cases Perform system integration, verification, and validation activities Document test results and classify performance issues Review project specifications and recommend effective changes Run tests, identify, and analyze defects found during testing Work closely with the development teams and contribute in every aspect of software lifecycle Track defects to closure Resolve schedule conflicts to coordinate process and program close-out activities, monitor time charging on specific programs Improve processes as appropriate to streamline program management efficiency Write code to automate portions of the testing Manage one or more software test engineers Education/Experience: Due to US Government contractual requirements, US Citizenship is required Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline required 5 - 10 years' software testing experience including testing in embedded software systems System or network administrator experience preferred Skilled in writing test procedures in a requirements' driven process. Experience with military communication on equipment is desired Experience in at least a CMMI-DEV Maturity Level 3 organization is preferred Cisco network experience including Call Manager preferred Strong working knowledge of MS Office products Experience with test automation is a plus Experience with tactical communications equipment is a plus Sanmina is an Equal Opportunity Employer - M/F/Veteran/Disability/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity.
