Position: Senior Embedded Software Test Engineer
We are looking for a highly motivated engineer interested in improving a battle tested, field proven tactical voice and data communication system. The ideal candidate will lead not just the software test of our existing products, but also bring in new test paradigms and automation to improve time to market for new features and releases of the system. The candidate must be highly organized, deadline oriented, and able to succeed in a fast-paced development engineering environment with frequently changing priorities. We are looking for a software tester who has experience with system administration and/or networking to broaden our test focus in an ever-changing environment.
Job Description:
Perform software testing tasks of a technical nature including but not limited to review of design change orders, writing test procedures, testing of engineering products as well as working as part of a multi-disciplined engineering project team.
Develop, modify, and execute software test plans. Analyze and write test standards and procedures. Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action. Consult with development engineers in resolution of problems. Improve the current manual tests for efficiency and automating tests.

Review requirementsResponsible for planning, creation, and execution of software test casesPerform system integration, verification, and validation activitiesDocument test results and classify performance issuesReview project specifications and recommend effective changesRun tests, identify, and analyze defects found during testingWork closely with the development teams and contribute in every aspect of software lifecycleTrack defects to closureResolve schedule conflicts to coordinate process and program close-out activities, monitor time charging on specific programsImprove processes as appropriate to streamline program management efficiencyWrite code to automate portions of the testingManage one or more software test engineersEducation/Experience:
Due to US Government contractual requirements, US Citizenship is requiredBachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline required5 - 10 years' software testing experience including testing in embedded software systemsSystem or network administrator experience preferredSkilled in writing test procedures in a requirements' driven process.Experience with military communication on equipment is desiredExperience in at least a CMMI-DEV Maturity Level 3 organization is preferredCisco network experience including Call Manager preferredStrong working knowledge of MS Office productsExperience with test automation is a plusExperience with tactical communications equipment is a plus
