QTEC Aerospace is seeking a SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS TEST ENGINEER to join our team of professionals in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicant will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. Job Summary
QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals.
The successful candidates will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:
Participate in software design and peer reviews, develop test specifications and infrastructure, execute manual and automated test and perform analysis of implementation in an integrated environment or to test specific capabilities for interfaces or infrastructure in support of operations (e.g., Internal Messaging, control and monitoring, message and display recording and playback, failover processing)Responsibilities also include the coordination of lab resources, test results, and verification status with the program and customersOccasional travel between Colorado Springs facilities/sites and Huntsville, AL
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or Computer Science with 5 years of experience or Masters degree with 3 years of experience or equivalent
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience with an Agile development processAutomated testing for requirement verification and performance assessment requirement and verification analysisConducting post-processing and analysis of collected dataDevelopment of action plans based upon analysis of dataDocumenting software deficiency reportsPresenting analysis results and action plans orally and/or in written format (e.g., slides, annotated slides, test report documentAccurately represent test perspectives to systems engineers and architects, software designers, other testers, and test support personnel, the Government customer, and personnel in other MDA programsPossess experience in testing and evaluating a software-intensive system in various test environments/venues, utilizing Agile developmentIndividual capable of diving into problems with assistance from other test engineers and software developersExperience should include the use of DoD test methodologies, functional capability-related test/analysis planning and execution, planning and execution of test data collection, and test data analysis and reporting.Analysis experience should involve characterizing system, software, or component performance using quantitative methods, reporting the characterization to subsequent users, and contributing to performance assessment by program system engineersExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as neededSelf-motivated and customer-oriented
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Master's Degree (Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or Computer Science)Experience in a DevSecOps environmentSecurity+ certification
Security Clearance
Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
