SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS TEST ENGINEER
to join our team of professionals in Colorado Springs, CO. The successful candidate will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS) with a mission of protecting the United States and our allies. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.
Job Summary
QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:
Participate in software design and peer reviews, develop test specifications and infrastructure, execute manual and automated tests, and perform analysis of Program implementation in an integrated environment or to test specific capabilities for interfaces or infrastructure in support of operations (e.g., Internal Messaging, control and monitoring, message and display recording and playback, failover processing).
Coordination of lab resources, test results, and verification status with the program and customers.
Occasional travel between Colorado Springs facilities/sites and Huntsville, AL.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or Computer Science with 5 years of experience or Master's degree with 3 years of experience or equivalent.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience with an Agile development process.
Automated testing for requirement verification and performance assessment requirement and verification analysis.
Conducting post-processing and analysis of collected data.
Development of action plans based upon analysis of data.
Documenting software deficiency reports.
Present analysis results and action plans orally and/or in written format (e.g., slides, annotated slides, test report document).
Accurately represent test perspectives to systems engineers and architects, software designers, other testers, and test support personnel, the Government customer, and personnel in other MDA programs.
Possess experience in testing and evaluating a software-intensive system in various test environments/venues, utilizing Agile development.
Strong self-starter capable of diving into problems with assistance from other test engineers and software developers.
Experience should include the use of DoD test methodologies, functional capability-related test/analysis planning and execution, planning and execution of test data collection, and test data analysis and reporting.
Analysis experience should involve characterizing system, software, or component performance using quantitative methods, reporting the characterization to subsequent users, and contributing to performance assessment by program system engineers.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed.
Self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Master's Degree (Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or Computer Science).
Experience in a DevSecOps environment.
Security+ certification.
Security Clearance
Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
Salary Range
$82,000 - $161,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
