SUMMARY

The Sr. Systems Administrator is customer-focused and is the owner responsible for installation, configuration, backup, and maintenance of the organization's infrastructure servers and associated peripherals. This role is responsible for implementing, supporting, and assessing systems as determined by the Sr. Manager of Infrastructure. Performs advanced troubleshooting of systems, associated network connectivity, and services. Leads the identification of problems and provides solutions to remediate or mitigate systems and/or associated processes. Provides input on the redesign and configuration of systems and associated system applications and services. Investigate and analyze the feasibility of system requirements and develop system specifications. Provides a high level of service to the customers of the department and maintains a sense of urgency on all tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the day-to-day operations of Hibbett Wintel/Linux systems by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair. Applies revisions to system firmware and software. Works with and utilizes 3rd party hosting providers to assist with support activities.Manages, supports, and configures the VCenter / VMWare environment while looking for efficiencies in the utilization of the resources associated with the VM ecosystem.Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures.Work in tandem with our engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company.Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training when necessary.Manage cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelinesLead a team of external vendors to ensure the production environment is running at maximum efficiencyManages the backup of local Wintel & Linux data using the TSM toolset, validates backup jobs are completed, and/or performs troubleshooting of failed jobs and ensures Hibbett is in a ready state in the event of requiring the recovery of data due to local or enterprise-wide disaster occurring.Owner of the Active Directory environment and is proficient in related systems/tools.Implement new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts, and testing procedures to ensure operational reliabilityPerforms proactive monitoring and system troubleshooting. As such, leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizationsManages and maintains the Zerto environment ensuring data resiliency across our production environment.Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission-critical computer resourcesMaintain and follow procedures to maintain security and protect systemsStays current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommends ways for Hibbett to take advantage of new technologyEnsuring reliability and availability of hardware and software components that provide: Fault tolerance; Load balancing; and Disaster recovery methods such as backup and restoreProtect the company's assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures, and informing management of potential fraud risksSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A., B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or 5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Current MCSE certification required.

Current VMWare or equivalent certification required.

Must have deep knowledge of most of the following:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of generally accepted IS principles.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
