Linux Systems Administrator Herndon, VA MUST: TS/SCI Required 8 years' experience with systems administration, at least 3 of which must be Linux Admin. Strong experience with Unix, Linux and CentOS operating systems. Must be comfortable administering from the command line. Experience with AWS Cloud Services to include Scalable EC2 instances, IAM User Permissions & Role Management, Serverless Services, Security Groups and Security Services, CloudWatch, CloudFormation / Terraform, Elasticsearch, EKS, and other basic Cloud tools and services. Experience with VMWare Familiar with Microsoft Windows 2016 or higher Familiar with Oracle SQL Server Familiar with Tomcat 8.5 or higher Familiar with JAVA Open JDK/JRE 11 Experience maintaining applications built on a SQL Server database in an Oracle environment. Experience writing scripts to monitor system services, resources, data mine logs, etc. Experience writing/Editing PowerShell Scripts as well as writing SQL and PL/SQL queries to generate system data reports, modify data as necessary, etc. Security OR other active IAT II/III Bachelor's Degree Required (Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree) DUTIES: As a Senior Linux Systems Administrator supporting an Intelligence Community customer, you will be responsible for ensuring systems are fully operating at high availability, rapidly troubleshooting and resolving systems issues, and handling tickets and calls from the customer. Your work will include collaborating with government Customers, contractor Project Lead, Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), Application Vendor, and Application End Users. Responsibilities range from daily system monitoring and monthly Patching to rapidly troubleshooting and resolving systems issues network vi ticketing tracking system and application performance issues and recommending appropriate action. You will be responsible for deploying software patches on a monthly basis at the customer location during off-hours. The ideal candidate must understand system hardening and security through the implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and Patching and must have familiarity with Oracle databases environments on Windows and CentOS servers. Occasional off-hours work on client site may be required if systems issues and circumstances warrant. Additional responsibilities include creating or revising existing documentation, communicating complex system configurations simply and clearly in documentation. Creating/revising, but not limited to, the documentation as follows: daily standard operating procedures (SOP), Security Test Procedures (STP) based off a Security Controls Traceability Matrix (SCTM), System Install Procedures (SIP), System Administration Guide (SAG), System User Manual (SUM), and/or Interface Control Document (ICD) Progression Inc. is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
