Responsibilities As a Senior Linux Systems Administrator supporting an Intelligence Community customer, you will be responsible for ensuring systems operate at high availability, troubleshooting and resolving system issues quickly, and handling tickets and calls from the customer. You will work closely with government customers, the contractor Project Lead, Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), Application Vendor, and Application End Users. Perform daily system monitoring and monthly patching, resolving system issues using a ticketing system, and troubleshooting application performance Deploy software patches monthly at the customer location during off-hours Implement system hardening and security through Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and patching Collaborate on Oracle database environments on Windows and CentOS servers Occasionally work off-hours on client site if system issues and circumstances warrant Create or revise documentation, including daily SOPs, Security Test Procedures (STP), System Install Procedures (SIP), System Administration Guide (SAG), System User Manual (SUM), and Interface Control Document (ICD) Requirements Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems administration, with at least 3 years as a Linux Administrator Strong experience with Unix, Linux, and CentOS operating systems, with proficiency in command-line administration Experience with AWS Cloud Services, including Scalable EC2 instances, IAM User Permissions & Role Management, Serverless Services, Security Groups and Services, CloudWatch, CloudFormation/Terraform, Elasticsearch, EKS, and other cloud tools Experience with VMware Strong team collaboration skills and the ability to anticipate problems and take decisive action Preferred Requirements Exhibits leadership skills Familiarity with Microsoft Windows 2016 or higher Experience with Oracle SQL Server Familiarity with Tomcat 8.5 or higher Knowledge of JAVA Open JDK/JRE 11 Experience maintaining applications built on a SQL Server database in an Oracle environment Experience writing scripts to monitor system services and manage logs Experience writing/editing PowerShell scripts and writing SQL/PLSQL queries for system reports and data modifications Education/Certification Requirements A Bachelors Degree is required (additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree) A Security OR other active IAT II/III certification is required Clearance Requirements Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active TS/SCI clearance with a CI poly that has been obtained in the past six years is required. Please note that our client will consider candidates with a poly that is older than six years but must be willing to retake and pass the polygraph test prior to starting this position.
