Manager's Provided Details:
Looking for a technical writer who will collaborate with SME's / System administrator including Technology team to build detailed documentation on systems and process. Duties will include updating and managing the company's systems procedure guide end to end and working with developers/operations to create new documents as we release new services.
The candidate will need to be familiar with creating process flows, charts, and other visuals for detailed technical processes. These processes will relate to ERP and PLM/ Analytics Dashboards. The candidate does not necessarily have to be a technical writer already, however, they MUST be comfortable with creating this type of process documentation for technical processes. This documentation is more advanced than knowing how to outline a simple login/laptop set up process, the candidate will need to be able to digest specific application steps and communicate those in clearly documented visuals.
No extensive lifting, standing, or walking. They will be working on their laptop and on the floor to assess processes. They will have the potential to convert, not necessarily right at 320 hours worked. It will depend on their performance. The client is Ricoh USA. Responsibilities•Fluency in technical and common office software, ERP and PLM knowledge is a plus•Create, document, and refine technical information and other various materials explaining products, tools, and services.•Collaborate with fellow technical communicators to develop new approaches for creating more precise and engaging knowledge base articles for the company.•Manage complex information and multiple projects within content specifications including drawing swim lanes.•Good eye for details including analytical and conceptual thinking skills.•Suggest best practices and optimizations throughout content generation projects.•Ability to create and check all technical material for consistency and accuracy.•Collaborate with technical team to develop approaches for creating more precise and engaging knowledge base articles for the company.•Implement comprehensive technical documentation, feedback, and changes whenever possible.•Create technical documents that convey accurate messaging for the project and product specifications.
Job Qualifications and Technical Skill Sets•Bachelor's degree in relevant technical field•2+ years of experience in technical writing or software documentation•Proficiency in word processor programs such as Microsoft Word and Google Docs and PDF software such as Adobe Acrobat•Familiarity with systems development life cycle (SDLC)•Excellent written and verbal communication skills•Minimum of two years' experience in technical writing•Time management and organizational skills•Familiarity with HTML and CSS preferred.Responsible for supporting and driving key services initiatives such as MIF retention, wallet share, and lead generation. The role involves conducting customer training on Ricoh products and applications, identifying volume-building opportunities, and ensuring customer satisfaction through follow-up visits.
Responsibilities:Conduct customer training on Ricoh devices and applications, including color and high-volume units.Deliver customized training based on customer needs as contracted.Follow up with customers using less than 30% of their Total Document Volume to optimize usage.Stay updated on Ricoh products and features through study and training.Visit customers with low volume to increase document volume.Register customers for company website and inform them of service and supply request processes.Identify potential sales leads and collaborate with the sales and network service departments.Maintain professional communication with customers and Ricoh personnel.Manage time, schedule training, and territory to enhance efficiency.Develop and execute monthly plans to meet training and volume growth goals.Complete required administrative tasks accurately and on time.Travel within the region for large installations as needed.Requirements:
2-year college degree or equivalent experience in a related field.CompTIA CTT+ Certification within 12 months of hire.Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.Strong written, verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Ability to prioritize tasks without direct supervision.Understanding of office imaging products, computer equipment, and networks.Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
