Hospital located on the Western Side of Iowa in need of a PCU RN on their Critical Care Unit.ICU experience is preferred but not required.This is a twenty bed unit.Job Requirements
ICU experience is preferred but not required.RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation.OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass.Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated.Schedule Information
The hospital is also seeking coverage on their night shifts.Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 0630-1900, 1830-0700.Weekend Requirements: Every third.Holiday Requirements: 1 major, 1 minor.Floating Requirements: Will float to ICU if appropriate and has experience.How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1- 12 hour shift in the department.Unit Specific Information
# of Beds: 22Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:04Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Heart failure, Afib, respiratory distress, strokeAre RNs required to titrate drips?: YesCommon titratable &/or set rate drips: Cardizem, amiodarone, nitroIs there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes- does take a full patient assignmentAre there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:10RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: CPAPAre there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: RNs must read and interpret stripsAdditional Details
Floating Requirements: Will float to ICU if appropriate and has experience.Additional Notes: Fast paced unit with many admits and discharges.Attributes that help make a nurse successful in this department are a positive attitude, teamwork, patient oriented, and comes to work to care for someone.Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
