Overview:
Synaptics is looking for a Wireless System Engineer who will be responsible for development and test of WLAN modem. The job involves design, documentation and simulation of wireless algorithms under various system constraints and wireless channels. The role also involves scripting in Python and TCL for testing the modem performance. This position reports to the Director of Systems engineering in Bangalore.Millions of people experience Synaptics every day. Note that compensation listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or benefits.Responsibilities:Job DutiesUnderstand and implement PHY layer algorithms for WiFi transceiverRun simulations and compile data and show performance gaps.Debug and root-cause the modem-related issues in the labWork on the silicon bring up tasks and root cause and solve systems/PHY/RF issues.Interact with SW/MAC engineers to ensure the throughput requirements are met.CompetenciesCore competencies the successful candidate will possessStrong background in Signal Processing algorithms and Digital CommunicationAbility to code in C/C++/Python/TCL and MATLABWork on Chip bring-up, performance tuning and optimization of calibration algorithmsProactive, self-starter, able to work independently in a fast-paced environmentWell organized with strong attention to detail; proactively ensures work is accuratePositive attitude and work ethic; unafraid to ask questions and explore new ideasAble to solve routine problems through practical use of technologyGood analytical, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to work within a diverse teamQualifications:
