Every associate is part of our success.The Manager of Indirect Tax directly reports to the Director of Indirect Tax and will have primary responsibility for state and local tax matters, including the development of tax strategies, communications with state and local tax departments and external tax advisors, and oversight of sales and use taxes, property taxes, our tax exempt/resale certificate management system, and tax audits. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the Director of Indirect Tax to identify strategic opportunities to improve our state and local tax structure and compliance processes.Scope of ResponsibilityManage the preparation, review and filing of US indirect tax returns and other applicable taxes. Requires coordination with external service providers to ensure timely and accurate completion of all tax filings.Oversee reconciliation and accurate posting of journal entries for all indirect tax related accounts.Support other indirect filings, such as license registrations and renewals, various gross receipts and excise tax returns, and others.Understand product and services taxability, tax resale/exemption certificate and license rules by jurisdiction and provide tax advice and guidance.Communicate with taxing jurisdictions, vendors, and other departments on their indirect tax/business license questions and resolve potential liability issues.Participate in managing tax audits related to indirect taxes.Monitor, research, review, and communicate all pertinent sales and use tax legislation and determine the impact on the Company.Supervise, mentor, and train analyst on state and local tax projects, and provide meaningful feedback and professional development opportunities.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, construction, and technology.Essential SkillsMust be detailed-oriented and possess strong analytical skillsAbility to research difficult state and local tax matters, summarize findings, and present recommendations to the Director of Indirect Tax.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsSelf-driven and dynamic team player with strong ability to analyze, solve problems, and adapt to changing organizational and operational needsStrong computer skills including Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with analytical data tools, such as Alteryx, SQL, etc.Skill in organization, prioritization, and attention to detailExperience & EducationBachelors degree in accounting or finance5+ years of state and local tax experience, including with sales and use taxesActive CPA or CMI license required.Public accounting experience a plus.Working Conditions (travel, hours, environment)Limited to no
