Overview:

THE ROLE:The Specialist, Data (SQL) will focus on specific high priority projects that provide simplified insights from complex analyses to different internal business team members (including Senior Leaders, Legal Department and Operations). The Specialist, Data (SQL) is responsible for data mining and integrating data from various sources, ensuring data integrity. Create analysis-ready data sets for multi-functional and complex data analysis tasks and redefining into substantial insights that inform decision making related to Distributors, Preferred Members, Customers, Events and Promotions, Sales and Marketing campaigns, products, and overall company strategy. Will be required to provide support and coaching to other analysts on a project by project basis to achieve more complex tasks.The right person for this role is a self-starter, with deep technical skills combined with an intellectual curiosity to provide answers from the detailed data to complex business questions. Requires a solid attention to detail and someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, with changing priorities.HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:Define and develop logic, build from scratch and maintain analytical reports (both ad-hoc and scheduled) using SQL, Excel and BI/MicroStrategy.Lead development initiatives with GTS, GBS, Business Intelligence and Analytical community related to data quality, modeling, reporting, validation, methodology and integration of new functionalities.Responsible for ensuring monthly and quarterly Key Metrics data is accurately brought together from various data sources, using comprehensive understanding and interpretation of data formulas, and calculations to solve of variances.Write and run sophisticated queries using SQL to validate data and investigate discrepancies, build/augment reporting functionality, develop systematic processes to routinely maintain and update dataTest and audit the quality of data and work with the development teams to correct any inaccuracies and inconsistencies.Perform data mining tasks through cleaning raw data, finding patterns, creating models, and testing those modelsPerform ad hoc tasks from data dredging to pattern mining to statistical analysis, to answer key questions from team members or out of self-initiated curiosity with an eye for what drives business performanceOwn sophisticated data provision components of projects supporting company pivotal initiatives.WHATS SPECIAL ABOUT THE TEAM:The BIG (Business insight Group) is a team that celebrates individual talents and a diverse group of backgrounds, has trust and respect among team members, supports open communication and truly cares about each others success and happiness. We nurture knowledge sharing work environment, encourage to explore, improve, and think in an unexpected way towards collective decisions, and hold one another accountable for making things happen.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Guidance and mentoring to analysts on a project by project basis.Qualifications:SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:Domain expertise in data engineering, 5+ years of experience in Data Warehousing, data structures, programming languages and data mining and/or CRM database analysis.Solid skills, 5+ years writing sophisticated queries and joins using T-SQL, PL/SQL, Python, Power Query (or equivalent) and Data Wrangling, Cleansing and Validation of large datasets.dashboards and datasets with tools such as MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, OBIEE or Hyperion.Validated significant experience, 7+ years in pivot tables, macros, editing VBA/SQL, v-lookup, queries, and report writing.Proven expertise in leading and analyzing structured and unstructured data using SQL, R and Python.Proven understanding of cloud relational databases such as Snowflake, Amazon Redshift or equivalent.Proven understanding of dimensional and fact data modelling from Ralph Kimball and Bill Inmon.Experience in building clear and easy to understand dashboards and data visualizations applying MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau or other tools as vital.Proficiency with datasets, tables, functions, views, procedures and routines in multiple databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, Netezza, Mongo etc.Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data interfaces.Must be able to communicate ideas and analysis results optimally both verbally and in writing to both analytical and non-analytical audience.A consistent track record for delivering complex data extraction and analytical projects.Must demonstrate an ability to recognize and define problems, understand business and system processes, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Must be able to formulate and communicate questions to gather the vital missing information to resolve a problem.Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.Results oriented, multi-task projects, superior time management and organizational skills.Able and willing to work in the fast pace environment with demanding deadlines.Experienced knowledge of Herbalife Marketing Plan and compensation structureEducationBA/BS in Business, Economics Finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
