Data Analyst Specialist The Data Analyst Specialist at Ranger College will be proficient in the latest analytics tools and processes to maximize offerings and deliver data driven service and support. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in all aspects of data analytics, including mining, generation, and visualization. Additionally, this person should be committed to transforming data into readable goal-oriented reports that drive Evidence Based Grant Making. Objectives of this role Develop, implement, and maintain leading-edge analytics systems, taking complicated problems and building simple frameworks Identify trends in Special Populations to target successful grant deliverables via analysis of complex datasets Create best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, and develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data Work directly with Perkins Leadership grant managers to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships Working hours will vary between 13-15 hours a week. Responsibilities Work closely with Perkins leadership to understand and maintain focus on their analytics needs, including actionable insights to relevant decision-makers Proficient in data analytics required in Evidence Based Grant Making Proactively analyze data to answer key questions for stakeholders or yourself, with an eye on what drives grant performance, and investigate and communicate which areas need improvement in efficiency and/or productivity Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis, with reporting components from multiple data sources Develop and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources, and build scripts that will make our data evaluation process more flexible or scalable across datasets Required skills and qualifications Knowledge of data collection, analysis and evaluation. Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in related area Knowledge of Random Control Trials and p-value. One or more years of experience working with data or related field. Proven analytical skills, including mining, evaluation, and visualization Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentations Strong database and excel skills, with aptitude for learning analytics tools Preferred skills and qualifications Strong programming experience with frameworks, including XML, JavaScript, and ETL Practical experience in statistical analysis through the use of statistical packages Knowledge in mining, analyzing and providing data for grant deliverables and performance Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment Review of applicants will begin immediately and will continue until the position has been filled.
