Leverage your expertise in technical SEO and web engineering to create a strategic roadmap aimed at improving organic search rankings, enhancing on-site search relevancy, increasing web traffic, and driving revenue growth. Besides writing web code, you will be responsible for developing data solutions that will automate monitoring, collection, analysis, and reporting on all aspects of search and discovery to ensure our customers are able to find what they want, where they want, when they want. Constant collaboration with cross-functional teams to enable continuous learning and integration of SEO best practices across the company. Proactively communicate our SEO strategies, objectives, opportunities, and successes to senior leaders. This role requires a degree in a relevant field, 5 years of SEO, web development experience, and advanced analytical skills. Reporting Structure: The Web Developer of Search & Discovery will report directly to the Group Manager of Digital Application Development. This role involves significant collaboration with various departments including merchandising, marketing, store operations, and external partners. Key Responsibilities: Design and execute comprehensive SEO strategies to identify revenue opportunities, enhance organic search rankings, improve on-site search, and increase revenue web traffic. Design, build, extend and maintain digital solutions for our e-commerce with the goal of empowering our business to drive continued sales growth and deliver mind blowing digital experiences for our customers. Develop a robust system for monitoring search rankings, site performance, site health, changes to technical SEO functionality and alert relevant teams to protect SEO traffic. Generate and present detailed reports on SEO performance, traffic trends, and user behavior. Communicate your strategy, goals, and progress to goals to senior leaders and internal stakeholders. Develop a continuous learning program to enhance skills and knowledge to integrate SEO best practices across all teams and channels. Use data-driven approaches to proactively identify opportunities to optimize website structure, URL hierarchy, schema markup, and internal linking for improved crawlability and indexing. Conduct in-depth analyses of search data from first-party and third-party data sources (e.g., SEO traffic data, rankings data, Search Console data, etc.). Develop and implement local SEO strategies to improve visibility in specific geographic locations. Manage international SEO efforts, including localization, and cross-border e-commerce optimization. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely delivery of high-quality results. Conduct regular technical audits and implement necessary changes. Oversee technical SEO aspects, including site architecture, URL structures, canonical tags, schema markup, and robots.txt files. Implement web performance optimization techniques, including image optimization, lazy loading, and minimizing render-blocking resources. Take part in the planning and architecture of projects by gathering requirements, writing technical specifications, and receiving feedback from business stakeholders. Stay updated on the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and industry best practices, including how to leverage AI in our SEO workflows to improve efficiency. Be a team player by performing peer code reviews, assisting teammates on projects, onboarding new employees, and helping teammates sharpen their skillsets. Provide proactive and positive support for our production platform and to team members in need, which includes ad-hoc incident resolution, scheduled deployments and being on-call during peak selling periods to maximize business uptime. Qualifications: Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field. At least 5 years of experience in search engine optimization (SEO), web application development, and data analytics. Experience in progressive web application (PWA) development, with advanced front-end development skills (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js), and back-end development skills (GraphQL, PHP, and MySQL). Experience in the retail sector, particularly in e-commerce, accessibility standards, information architecture, localization, cross-border selling, and web security best practices. In-depth understanding of technical SEO, including best practices, local SEO strategies, site architecture, URL structures, canonical tags, schema markup, performance optimization, and robots.txt. Experience in data analysis, reporting, SQL, and machine learning/artificial intelligence (ML/AI). Use of SEO tools (Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz). Working experience of Adobe Commerce (Magento) or similar e-commerce platforms. Experience with CMS platforms (ie Adobe Experience Manager, WordPress, Joomla, Drupal). Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their application in delivering digital solutions. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). Skilled in the Microsoft Office suite.
