Job Description -

HW&Co. is currently seeking a Senior Manager for our Tax department in our Columbus, OH office. Senior Managers are responsible for tax compliance and planning within a variety of projects, and report to Principals and the Director of Tax Services.

They have extensive management experience at this point, looking to become a Principal in the next 3-5 years. They review income tax returns for companies and individuals within the Tax department.

Have a working knowledge of federal and state tax laws and Firm-specific Tax department practices and procedures

Understand the preparation of corporate, individual, partnership, and other tax returns prepared by the Firm

Understand and abide by the rules, regulations, and code of conduct of the AICPA

Perform the following tax procedures:

Technical review of quarterly and yearly tax projections and returnsTechnical review of corporate, individual, and partnership tax returnsReview complex tax calculations and returnsRecommend ways to enhance revenue and reduce costsMaintain detailed work papers to support tax provisions and returnsMaintain compliance with federal and local tax laws and regulationsImprove tax procedures and systems and initiate any corrective actionsImprove and manage client relationshipsFacilitate and manage IRS income tax audits - create schedules, prepare responses, etc.Conduct tax research projectsComplete and submit reviewed returns to more experienced staffAssist or lead in business plans and projectionsPerform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications -

10+ years of public accounting experienceBachelor's degree in accountingCPA licenseDetail-oriented with a passion for accuracyExperience with consolidated C-corporations, partnerships, S-corporations, individual and/or multi-state tax returnsExpert in accounting software (Access, CaseWare and/or SureLink is preferred)Great verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational skills and time managementThe ability to handle confidential and sensitive informationThe ability to interact with clients and employees of all levels of the FirmBenefits

Office locations in Woodmere, Willoughby, Westerville, Middleburg Heights, and MansfieldOvertime hours required for client-serving roles (especially during the months of January through April)
