Job Description
SUMMARY:Reporting to the Construction Official, the Elevator Subcode Official is responsible for ensuring compliance with the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code (N.J.U.C.C.) and all applicable Elevator Subcode Requirement, as they relate to construction activities and required periodic inspections and tests of elevators at Montclair State University.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Examine elevator work plans and specifications to ensure compliance with the Elevator Subcode Requirements.Inspect and evaluate all elevator work to ensure conformance with construction documents and N.J.U.C.C. regulations.Conduct required inspections and witness required tests for permit authorized work.Conduct required periodic elevator inspections to ensure safety standards.Witness required periodic elevator tests.Assist the Construction Official in administrative matters, as required by the N.J.U.C.C.Establishes and maintains records and files.Performs other duties as assigned.Management retains the right to add or change job duties at any time.QUALIFICATIONS :

Knowledge of elevator mechanical and electrical maintenance inspections and design.Possession of a valid NJ DCA issued HHS Elevator Inspector licensePossession of a valid NJ DCA issued Elevator Subcode Official licenseValid driver's licensePREFERRED :
