This position will fill a need on the First Line Technology Risk Team within the Technology, Data, Analytics and Cyber organization. As a Sr. Consultant/Consultant, Business Intelligence, you will assist in the strategic development of our Tableau Risk dashboards, metrics and analytics as we drive towards improved, automated, proactive reporting focused on actionable insights. This individual is an integral member of the Technology First Line of Defense team ensuring sound governance, oversight, and execution of IT risk and controls across the technology organization. This will be a highly visible position that will partner with business and IT teams to help ensure teams can make data driven risk decisions. This individual exhibits a deep understanding of The Hartford's technology landscape, applicable systems, tools, policies, and procedures and are adept at identifying gaps and deficiencies.

You'll work closely with teams of information security professionals, data engineers, performance analysts, and asset owners to prototype, productionalized, scale, and evolve core data assets. You will use a deep understanding of these data assets to bring actionable insights to the business (primarily related to Risk) via enhanced metrics and creative expectations.

In addition to providing deep analytics, this position is responsible for contributing to presentations of Risk results and actionable insights for the Senior Leadership team on a monthly and ad-hoc cadence. The candidate must be able to effectively communicate technical data and analytic results to a diverse audience. The position will also be a resource to process owners in need of additional assistance analyzing processes and developing metrics.

This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office location (Hartford, CT, Chicago, IL, Charlotte, NC, Columbus, OH, San Antonio, TX) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Responsibilities:

Develop advanced risk monitoring metrics including ownership of metric definitionsCompile recurring reporting, including deep dive analysis into emerging trends and root cause analysis, explaining results and recommendations to Senior LeadershipSupport Risk strategies to improve operational results and address emerging trendsProvide analytical guidance and support to Risk Process OwnersActively explore new analytical tools and techniquesWork within an Agile environment, communicating status updates and roadblocks at scrums while delivering on all committed user storiesGeneral project management owning all aspects of product delivery from ideation to executionEnhance datasets and automate reporting for faster and self-sustaining analyticsAnticipate and monitor for potential unintended, indirect impacts of process change and operational stressExperience & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Finance, Statistics or other related field3+ years Risk experience is preferred10+ years of demonstrated strong data analytic skills and familiarity with key tools (Tableau experience required)Proficiency in SQL is requiredPython experience is preferredJSON experience is preferredAWS Cloud experience is preferredETL tool experience is required. E.G. Dataiku, DremioDemonstrated strong communication skills and ability to build strong partnerships (essential to success for this role)Strong problem-solving ability and ability to quickly analyze and understand source and target data structures.Ability to manage and manipulate large data sets and translate data into actionable insightsAbility to manage multiple projects concurrently, and to set priorities and plans to meet business goals and objectivesAbility to lead without having formal authority and to work both independently and in a team environmentDocumented track record of creating innovative data solutions; passion for delivering outcomesProven record of internal motivation driving solutions and working through challengesCandidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$87,600 - $131,400
