The Human Resource Generalist position will be instrumental in supporting the day-to-day HR operations at our unionized Sheboygan manufacturing facility. The role will involve providing comprehensive HR support to both employees and management, ensuring a harmonious and productive work environment.

Job Responsibilities

Labor Relations

Manage, interpret and administer the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, and work with union leadership and management on disputes.Manage the grievance process including investigations and resolutions ensuring timely action is taken.Employee Relations

Foster positive employee relations by addressing inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly.Efficiently and proactively mediate employee conflicts and ensure consistent policy interpretation with management and employee groups.Coach managers and employees in goal setting and the performance management processes to ensure alignment with the business goals and personal growth opportunities.HR Administration

Be a business partner to the operations team to coach on all things people related.Identify and manage projects that enhance continuous improvements in talent development, engagement, safety, quality and productivity/cost reductions.Manage full cycle recruiting of hourly employees.(Manage all aspects of plant recruitment including internal posting, advertising, applicant tracking, screening, interviewing, pre-employment screens, offer letters, and onboarding.)Work with other members of the Human Resource Department to develop companywide programs in the areas of employee engagement, culture, health, and safety.Act as a liaison between the facility and Human Resources to ensure that consistent policies and procedures are applied to all locations.Recommend improvements.Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field.Minimum of five years of experience working in a Manufacturing environment supporting all employees from the shop floor to executive levels.Bilingual language skills preferred.PHR/SPHR Certification preferred.Experience working in HRIS platforms, UKG experience preferred.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Understanding of the environments for manufacturing operations and human resources.High degree of proficiency in oral/written communication.Interpersonal skills to work effectively with all employees within all levels of the organization.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.Ability to deal with ambiguity.Conduct oneself in a manner that is approachable and compassionate,Proficient in conflict management and client focused.Knowledge of hiring processes and personnel management.Work Environment

This job will have both professional and manufacturing environments.The role requires sitting, standing, and walking on the manufacturing floor.
