Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of families? Thom Child & Family Services located in Lowell, MA is seeking Registered Nurses to join their team.

As an Early Parenting Partnerships Registered Nurse (RN) you will be responsible for providing home and community based early parenting partnership services to expected parents and families with infants and toddlers who are high need due to practical barriers. You will work in partnering with parents/caregivers to provide connection, assistance, and resources available in local communities. You will monitor developmental milestones and progress to infants up to 1 years old with parents/caregivers to inform ongoing need for direct service, consultation and/or assessment. Through this collaborative process you ensure families' priorities, needs, culture, and values are prioritized.

As an Welcome Family Registered Nurse (RN) you will be responsible for providing a one time follow up postpartum home visit with mother and baby. Through this collaborative process you ensure families' priorities, needs, culture, and values are prioritized.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist and/or complete initial intakes and provide follow-up referrals and/or interagency service coordination as needed.
  • The RN will focus on medical history, nursing assessment, as well as goals and objectives related to health, nutrition, and safety.
  • Provide services using a coaching model with infants and families. This will include home visits, and may include child groups and parent groups.
  • Monitor developmental milestones and progress with parents/caregivers to inform ongoing need for direct service, assessment and/or referrals.
  • Provide parent/caregiver education on health and safety issues during home visits or parent education groups.
  • Complete progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence as appropriate.
  • Document all information necessary for the upkeep of client files.
  • Participate in developmental screenings in the community.
  • Attend program functions for clients and the public.

Position Requirements:

  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Massachusetts
  • BSN preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Strong ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners
  • Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development
  • Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally informed services
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Abide by all confidentiality and professional boundaries standards
  • Good computer skills as well as strong documentation skills
  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Bilingual/Bicultural a plus.
  • CPR/First Aid required within the first 6 months
