They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal II in Washington, DC. The Paralegal II will utilize their knowledge of litigation processes to provide essential support to attorneys.
Responsibilities include:
- Efficiently managing tasks to support billable work and fee collection.
- Meeting a billable hours target of 1,725 annually.
- Coordinating, organizing, and preparing complex legal documents related to litigation under attorney supervision.
- Maintaining databases and files, filing documents, and distributing copies to relevant parties.
- Reviewing and organizing case files, compiling documents for court filings, and initiating electronic court filings (ECF).
- Conducting electronic document reviews and managing document productions with attorneys, including searches in production databases and other eDiscovery tasks.
- Assisting with deposition preparation and factual research using internal and external resources.
- Supporting trial preparation, attending court hearings, and managing logistics and travel arrangements as needed.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to streamline processes and ensure efficient communication.
Required Proficiencies:
- MS Office Suite proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with document management and comparison tools, transcript management (LiveNote), cite-checking/bluebooking, and online legal research tools (LexisNexis/Westlaw, PACER, CM/ECF).
- Familiarity with legal billing processes and timekeeping systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of paralegal experience, including litigation.
- Experience with trials, arbitrations, or mediations required.
