Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN - ICU

Shift: Days, 7a-7p, 12x3, 36hrs per week, EOW, no call, Holidays as needed

Length: 13 weeks

Requirements:
  • ME License
  • Minimum 2 years' experience
  • 1 year of ICU experience required
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • Previous Charge RN experience highly preferred

Other Details:

  • Charting System: Cerner
  • Accept first-time traveler
  • May float to Med Surg to take a patient assignment (ratio 1:5 days & 1:6 nights)
  • Hospital Beds: 64
  • Patient Ratios: 1:3 - acuity based
  • Beds: Mixed acuity unit - 9 ICU beds available, mixed ICU and Med Surg level
  • Patient Types: Vents, Sepsis, PNA, DKA, Detox, CHF, COPD exacerbation, Surgical complications: Total Joints (knees, hips, etc.), General Surgical, Appendicitis, Colectomies, Small Bowel Resection, Urology (Turps, Cystos)
  • Skills required: Chest tubes, traches, drains, wound vacs, IVs, PCAs, Epidurals (rare), CVP, A-Line care/blood draws, Insulin gtts, Cardiac gtts, Nursing must read and interpret strips for ICU and MSU

ICU

Intensive care unit travel nurse jobs, otherwise known as critical care unit (CCU) travel nurse jobs, specialize in providing care to the most acutely ill patients in the hospital. An ICU travel nurse might work in ICU burn unit, abdominal transplant acute care, neuro ICU, post-op, surgical ICU (SICU), trauma ICU or cardiovascular ICU (CVICU). Critical care nurses may also care for age-specific patients in the pediatric ICU (PICU) or neonatal ICU (NICU). Aside from clinical care such as skills with ventilators and tracheostomy tubes, travel ICU nurse jobs need a RN who can deliver progress updates and support to patients and/or their family.
