Travel Mammography Technologist

The Mammography Technologist operates x-ray equipment and performs a variety of mammography-related diagnostic procedures. Individual must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique. This position is critical to Washington Radiology; by providing outstanding care and efficient results, the technologist impacts the profitability of the organization as well as the patient experience.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Understands, promotes, and demonstrates the Solis Way;
  • Consistently practices excellent mammography positioning and exposure technique;
  • Showcases the ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology by effectively communicating to patients the procedures and educating women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health;
  • Always maintains a patient-first focus and exhibits outstanding customer service skills by effectively communicating on individual and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees;
  • Knowledge of database software, RIS/PACS software is preferred;
  • Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies is preferred;
  • Prior quality control experience preferred;
  • Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program and hold current certification by ARRT in Radiography;
  • ARRT advanced level certification in mammography with documentation of clinical experience, or MQSA qualified and (M) registry eligible;
  • Current on all required continuing education and continuing experience as required by MQSA and ARRT;
  • Must possess non-restricted licensure in state work location;
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
