Video Specialist

Duties:
Under the supervision of the Creative Director & Producer, support the overall objectives of Joni and Friends' Marketing department. Perform duties and responsibilities including, but not limited to:
  1. Video Editing - Editing responsibilities include:
    1. Short promo and documentary-style stories. Effectively create engaging and emotionally compelling videos that communicate the mission and vision of JAF
    2. Interview and talking head-style video messages. Match JAF branding and visual style in videos that communicate the message of our Founder, Joni Eareckson Tada and other JAF presenters
    3. Short form social media content. As needed, edit vertical, phone content for social platforms. Provide clips and string-outs to the social media team, as requested
    4. Follow direction and implement notes, basic audio mixing and color correction, able to QC one's own work and deliver media according to department standards. Able to organize media and projects according to department standards
    5. Familiarity with uploading and backend management of YouTube and other social media platforms, captions formats, and video file formats
    6. Basic motion graphics, graphics, and photo editing for video beneficial, but not required
  2. Studio Video Production - Provide support for video productions, including:
    1. Operate studio equipment, as needed, including camera, audio, lighting, and teleprompter
    2. Record basic talking head and interview-style videos to match departments standards
  3. Other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor to support department and organizational needs
Qualifications:
  • Must possess a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agree with the Joni and Friends statement of faith
  • Desire to serve in a growing and dynamic Christian service ministry
  • Proven video editing experience. Please provide editing samples
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud programs (Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, Bridge, Camera RAW, and Photoshop)
  • Experience with basic production gear. Production samples beneficial
  • Familiarity with basic Audio-Visual gear
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Able to take direction and work well as part of a busy media team
  • Able to implement notes and communicate well as part of a large Marketing Department
  • Desire to contribute creatively within a dynamic Marketing Department and to serve God and others through your work
  • Two years of editing experience and some production experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or certificate in video production, film, or related field
  • Good interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to effectively organize and prioritize a wide range of daily tasks with varied deadlines are necessary
  • Must be detail oriented, committed to accuracy, and team player who is flexible and able to work independently
  • Must have a strong sense of confidentiality
  • Strong general computer skills are necessary along with a competent, working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and the Internet
  • Understanding of Christian ministry and specifically Joni and Friends is desirable

Compensation for this position is $24.00-$25.00 per hour. This is a temporary position, working 40 hours per week from the time of hire to the end of 2024. It is a hybrid position, working in the Agoura Hills location Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and remotely Wednesday and Friday.
