Evonik's Soil and Groundwater Remediation team is in immediate need of a regional Technical Sales Manager to service customers located in the northeast regional territory in the USA. The Technical Sales Manager will work with environmental consultants, contractors, regulators, and site owners to grow the sales of Evonik's products and services into the soil and groundwater remediation market. The successful candidate will gain a knowledge of our technical product portfolio and propose remediation strategies and technical support to customers.
The Technical Sales Manager be responsible for meeting or exceeding sales forecasts, growing the sales funnel, expanding reach into the region, and strengthening customer relationships.
This will be covering northeastern region which will include Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut , New York, and New York City metro area.
Target Salary Range:
$79,000 - $143,200 per year (salary to be determined by geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Sales Excellence - Understanding customer's commercial and technical needs and opportunities (research, communicate, present), including professional interaction with scientists, engineers, project managers, and purchasing contacts at customers.
• Position Evonik S&GW as a preferred supplier of remediation products and services to environmental consultants, applicators, and site owners. Build relationship with scientific community and stakeholders within the industry.
• Cooperate with global Technology Group to develop, improve, and establish remediation strategies for customers' contaminated sites.
• Responsible for driving commercial and technical activities, including lead generation, and converting them into successful customer business and project pipeline.
• Marketing - In conjunction with Regional and Global Marketing and technical colleagues, initiate marketing and technical activities (such as case studies) and promote Evonik S&GW products at important industry events such as trade shows, conferences and workshops.
• Study and understand the soil and groundwater remediation market, gathering competitive intelligence, and identify successful remediation strategies that are in line with the market and with Evonik's profit targets. Provide accurate and reliable market and local regulatory information and trends.
• Working closely with supply chain, credit, and customer service for smooth customer transactions.
• Compliance - Establish and maintain Evonik's leading position in the market by conducting business according to Evonik Vision/Mission and corporate compliance standards.
• Travel - Reading, understanding, and complying with all Evonik travel and expense policies.
• Safety - Responsible and accountable for maintaining safe work activities, in accordance with Evonik's policies.
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelors, Master, or PhD degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or Environmental Sciences
• Minimum of 2-5 years of technical soil and groundwater remediation experience, client interaction or sales experience preferred
• Proven track record of commercial business development
• Experience related to sales or the use of remediation products.
• Ability to analyze and scientific results and translate them into persuasive sales arguments utilizing a combination or technical understanding as well as strong communication and presentation skills
• A good command of English
• Experience in negotiation, problem solving and conflict management.
• 20-40% Travel
