Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care to patients, including preventive services, screenings, diagnosis, and treatment of reproductive health issues.
- Perform routine gynecological exams, Pap smears, breast exams, and other screenings to detect abnormalities or potential health concerns.
- Manage pregnancies from prenatal care through delivery, providing personalized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Conduct prenatal screenings, ultrasounds, and genetic testing to monitor fetal development and identify any potential complications.
- Perform deliveries, including vaginal births, cesarean sections, and assisted deliveries, ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and baby.
- Diagnose and treat gynecological conditions such as menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, infertility, urinary tract infections, and sexually transmitted infections.
- Provide counseling and education to patients on contraception, family planning, sexual health, and lifestyle choices to promote overall wellness.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, midwives, surgeons, and specialists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
- Stay informed about advances in obstetrics and gynecology through continued education, training, and participation in professional development activities.
- Maintain accurate medical records, documentation, and communication with patients and their families regarding treatment plans, test results, and follow-up care.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine.
- Board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
- Completion of residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of current medical practices and procedures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and bedside manner skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
