Position Overview
We are looking for a House Arrest Specialist for our Justice Services Department. This role is responsible for investigative and procedural duties related to the supervision of a criminal defendant awaiting trial. You'll manage a caseload of court mandated individuals that been release pending court disposition of their cases.
Examples of Duties
Graduation from an accredited two-year college or technical school with an Associate degree with course work emphasis in Public Justice, Business Administration or Criminal Justice and two (2) years of experience and/or training in supervising clients involved with the Criminal Justice System and maintaining client records and schedules; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Employee required to obtain Notary Public license after hire.
Management Preference:
Experience in managing large caseloads of persons with a criminal background.
Previous Law Enforcement experience.
Experience in working hands on with offenders.

- Prepare, install and maintain electronic monitoring equipment
- Review electronic monitoring clients' daily activity to include their whereabouts at any given time and enter client data upon entry into program
- Facilitate releases from detention centers with verification of home plan and contract agreements
- Verification of work/school schedules, authorization of movements
- Maintain files and case management databases
- Document program violations and prepare order for arrests
- Interview/conducts risk assessments/collect case details to determine eligibility of program and recommends disposition
- Conduct drug screens/testing
- Weekly Rotation of On-Call Duties

- Knowledge of the organization of the department, and of related departments and agencies
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions required to perform the essential functions of the work
- Knowledge of terminology and related professional languages used within the department as such pertains to work responsibilities
- Knowledge of principles and practices of interviewing inmates and investigating cases to verify information
- Knowledge of laws, ordinances, standards, and regulations pertaining to pretrial services. MS Office to create communication documents, spreadsheets, and reports
- Skilled with maintaining records, files, and reports
- Ability to maintain cooperative and effective relationships with intra- and interdepartmental personnel, as well as any external entities with whom the employee interacts
- Ability to identify and solve problems
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external partners
- Ability to develop and foster a spirit of teamwork
