DescriptionAs a Heavy Haul Local Driver, you will:Safety Compliance: Operate vehicles in strict compliance with all established HSSE policies, ensuring the safety of yourself, other drivers, and the public.Vehicle Inspections: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers, identifying any defects and submitting detailed reports.Driving Operations: Safely operate a variety of trucks and equipment in various conditions, following posted speed limits and adhering to all local, state, and federal laws.Record Keeping: Maintain accurate driver e-logs and maintenance e-logs in compliance with state and federal regulations.Customer Service: Conduct pick-ups and deliveries with exceptional professionalism, ensuring that customer satisfaction is a priority.Trailer Handling: Spot trailers at the warehouse, chock wheels, and assist with loading/unloading as needed.Dispatch Communication: Maintain hands-free telephone contact with the terminal dispatcher to receive and confirm accurate dispatch instructions.Cargo Security: Ensure that cargo is properly secured for transport in accordance with FMCSRs and company policies.Clean Work Environment: Keep the truck’s interior and exterior clean, including sweeping the trailer and ensuring that windows and mirrors are spotless.Documentation: Verify the accuracy of all paperwork, check for discrepancies, and ensure proper placarding when handling HAZMAT materials.Other Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.Qualifications:Class A Commercial Driver's License with a valid Medical CardHazardous Materials Endorsement is required and must be obtained within 30 Days of hire2 years of verifiable safe CDL driving experience; previous Heavy Haul experience preferredMust pass all Pre-Employment ScreeningsBenefitsAt Carlile Transportation, we understand the importance of fostering a comprehensive and supportive benefits package to enhance the overall well-being of our valued employees.
