We currently have open the position of Counsel to support the Work Dynamics group in the Americas.

Counsel – Americas Work Dynamics – Chicago, Illinois

Responsibilities:

  • Review, prepare, and negotiate contracts with third-party vendors performing a variety of outsourced services; forms will include Service Contractor Agreements and Professional Consulting Agreements.
  • Provide legal assistance in the development, review, and updating of firm policies, procedures, template agreements, and department best practices.
  • Counsel management with respect to compliance and ethics, and conduct internal training and information sessions.
  • Liaise with the firm’s Risk Management Department to identify/assess liability for provision of services.
  • Exercise good commercial judgment to understand business needs and provide appropriate and responsive legal support.
  • Act as internal clients’ trusted colleague who coordinates strategy with respect to commercial contracting, compliance, contractual disputes, and best practices.
  • Enhance and support the department’s technology solutions and knowledge management efforts.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
  • Prefer 3-7 years’ experience in a law firm or in-house with experience negotiating and drafting contracts.
  • Ability to conceptualize and articulate practical and creative solutions to meet business needs and legal requirements.
  • Ability to work independently, but in a team environment.
