We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting expertise, leadership skills, and a hands-on approach to managing accounts, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role involves leading a team of accountants, overseeing various accounting functions, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes.
Responsibilities
Supervision & Leadership:Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of accounting staff, providing guidance and performance feedback.Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), general ledger (GL), and payroll.Ensure team members adhere to internal controls and accounting policies.Financial Reporting & Month-End Close:Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.Prepare, review, and approve journal entries and account reconciliations.Prepare financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies.Budgeting & Forecasting:Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.Analyze financial results, providing insights and recommendations to management for decision-making.Ensure variances between actual and budgeted amounts are analyzed and explained.Compliance & Internal Controls:Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting and operational processes.Assist with external and internal audits, providing necessary documentation and support.Process Improvement:Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and accuracy within the accounting team.Streamline workflows and utilize accounting software to improve reporting capabilities.Stay updated on new accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.Team Development & Training:Train and develop accounting staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.Conduct regular performance reviews and address any performance issues.Collaboration & Communication:Collaborate with other departments (e.g., finance, operations, HR) to ensure smooth financial operations and resolve discrepancies.Communicate financial information and performance metrics to senior management.
$70,000 - $85,000 a year
Base salary, weekly bonus offered as well.
