Job SummaryThe ideal candidate is proficient in CAD, has GIS experience and is familiar with public utility infrastructure and telecommunications networks. You have a keen eye for visual details as well as place value on providing credible data to stakeholders and possess sound problem-solving and decision-making abilities. You will work well with motivated peers to produce quality designs through various map formats that propel our exciting projects.
Responsibilities and Duties
Project management for preparation of engineering deliverables such as drawings, reports, specifications, and studies of limited scope, adaptable to varying formatsCollects assimilate and manages data required for engineering workDrives engineering following standard methods and procedures used for the analysis of networksUnderstands and adheres to budget, schedule, and quality requirementsShares critical design information with peers and other departments as required and coordinates with others when directed by supervisor or project leadershipFocuses on the needs of internal clients while attempting to gain an understanding of external client's main interests and driversMay provide support to business development or pursuit activities through researchRoute Planning and High-Level Design and analysisDetailed engineering of Pole Line design for Aerial, Lease Structure processes, New Underground trench methods, Private Property demarcation, Inside Wiring requirementsTechnical specifications in support of planning, material and service deliveryCoordinates with Wireless and Land Acquisitions
Qualifications and Skills
Associate degree or 1+ years equivalent industry or professional experienceWorking knowledge of GIS systems and how they are used in the industryStrong MS Office Suite/AutoCAD Drafting/Database skillsWorking knowledge of Dark Fiber networks and FTTx deployment of passive optical networksWorking knowledge of various cable types (copper / fiber), and deployment of feeder and distribution networks from the central office to terminals, nodesExcellent written and communication skills.Strong interpersonal skillsReceives general instruction, otherwise performs independently with minimal supervision, exercising latitude to achieve daily objectives and approaches to critical/complex assignmentCreatively and effectively contributes to operational productivity by proposing innovative solutions to complex problems
