Position Description:This is a full-time position with the NYS Medicaid Program's Bureau of Provider Enrollment (BPE). Auditors within BPE are responsible for enrolling and revalidating providers in NYS Medicaid and maintaining provider records in eMedNY.
Minimum Education:
High School Graduate or Equivalent
Work Experience:
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
Job Duties:
Ensuring that the paper application and required documentation are complete, current, and valid, and data entered by fiscal agent into tracking system is consistent with the submitted application adhering to Federal and State, requirements, policies and procedures.Navigating various Federal and State databases, including Medicare's enrollment system (PECOS), NPI Registry (NPPES), New York State Education Department, Office of the Professions Verification Search, and other states' licensing verification websites, to verify information supplied on application is current and valid.Contacting providers via email or phone if information is incomplete or requires further clarification in a clear, concise, tactful manner.Entering and updating provider information in eMedNYMeeting production and quality standardsFile, maintain, upload documents according to procedures in a timely mannerEmployees are requested to refrain from taking time off during the initial training period, up through the first 90 days to ensure the best learning outcomes.
Preferred Skills:
Previous experience reviewing, verifying, validating detailed/sensitive information using web-based verification sources (Preferred)Data entry experience (Preferred)Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet navigation (Preferred)Strong communication skills (written and verbal)Previous customer service experienceExcellent organizational skillsbility to be flexible, innovative, work independently, recognize and manage priorities with minimal supervision and as a team member.
Miscellaneous Information:
Monday-Friday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm (30 Min unpaid break).Commuter lots available for $55 per month or City of Albany paid street parkingCDTA bus lines are in close proximity to the worksite location.Interview Process: In-person, with a short evaluation of basic computer skills/website navigation at the end of the formal interview processTelecommuting: After training, telecommuting up to 50% of the pay period may be available.Equipment's will be provided by the employer.
