Job DescriptionPosition Overview:
The Financial Analyst is a key member of Argus's Finance and Accounting department, reporting to the CFO. The position is primarily responsible for overseeing data analysis in support of Argus's ongoing operations and may also assist in supporting various accounting processes. This position helps to coordinate the annual budget, forecasting, monthly close/reporting, inventory control, reporting, and is responsible for ad-hoc analysis. The ideal candidate is motivated, self-directed, and comfortable presenting and collaborating with employees at all levels of the company.
Primary Responsibilities:Collaborate with Contract Groups on review and analysis of monthly resultsAssist with preparation and analysis of monthly financial resultsAnalyze variances from forecasted plans, report results, and recommend solutionsDevelop and improve financial reporting tools and processesAssist in annual planning and budget processSupport Accounting department by assisting with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and PayrollExperience and SkillsCompetencies & Job Requirements:
Knowledge of finance - forecasting techniques, budgeting, variance reportingSolid understanding of accounting principles and conceptsStrong analytical skills and ability to build complex Excel models (data collection, lookups/index/match, visualizations/charts, etc.)Ability to work with and relate to employees at all levels of the organizationAttention to detailProven ability to handle multiple tasks in a time sensitive mannerEffective written and oral skillsEducation & Experience:
Required: Undergraduate degree; ideally in accounting, finance, or analytics1+ years of experience in finance or accounting preferredStrong experience/skills with Excel modeling/formatting, PowerPoint, Word, GSuite/Forms, etc
